PRINCIPLES OF ENZYME TECHNOLOGY - ABOUT AUTHOR(S)


M. Y. KHAN, PhD, is Head and Dean, Department of Biotechnology, School of Biosciences and Biotechnology, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. Having more than three decades of experience in teaching, research and academic administration, Prof. Khan is Chief Coordinator of the Innovative and Emerging Sciences. His research contribution in the field of enzyme technology and protein chemistry is acclaimed world over as evidenced by his over eighty publications virtually in all top ranking journals of biochemistry and related areas. Twenty-two scholars have been awarded PhD under guidance of Prof. Khan and all of them are contributing to the cause of science in India and abroad. Prof. Khan was given Fulbright Fellowship for visiting USA as visiting scientist in 1988. He was also bestowed with the prestigious ‘Fogarty International Research Fellowship’ during 1989–1990 for researching in the Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at the New York Medical College. He has also been visiting professor at the institution in 1994.


FARHA KHAN, pursuing PhD at IISc Bangalore, has obtained her M.Tech from West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), Kolkata. She undertook a series of short-term trainings in different institutions, including the University of Lucknow, National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources, Lucknow, Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi, sponsored training at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and in-house summer training at WBUT, Kolkata. She has also contributed a chapter on ‘The Friend, the Foe and the Factotum in Biotechnology: A Bird’s Eye View’ in a book. Currently, she is pursuing research in structural biology at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
