Chanchal Uberoi Ph.D. (IISc.), formerly Professor, Department of Applied Mathematics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. In 1966, she was Leverhulme Trust Fellow, Cardiff, U.K. and was the first Donalt Menzel Fellow, Harvard Observatory, in 1967.
A distinguished scientist, Professor Uberoi was given the STC Award in 1983 for the best technical book The Alfven Wave (which she co-authored) by the Society for Technical Communication, Tennessee. She has contributed to prestigious international and national journals, including Phys. Rev., Phys. Rev. Lett., Plasma Physics, J. Geophys. Res., Solid State Comm., Pramana, and J. Ind. Inst. Sci.
