LAST FRONTIERS OF THE MIND: CHALLENGES OF THE DIGITAL AGE - ABOUT AUTHOR(S)

A. MOHANDAS MOSES was a Renaissance man. As a dedicated and courageous civil servant he built dams and power houses, ensured steady food supply throughout the country during the great drought of 1987, led a dangerous relief mission to Jaffna, and as Advisor to the Governor of Jammu-Kashmir risked his life daily promoting development work and restored Buddhist gomphas. He was also a man of deep intellectual interests who read and wrote on a variety of subjects. As Secretary in the Ministry of Welfare, Government of India and as Advisor in J&K he was closely involved with the rehabilitation of people with brain and spinal injuries. His sensitivity to their plight aroused his interest in the body-brain-mind relationship. This book is the result of his concern, research and introspection on the subject of the mind. Soon after completing the book, Mohandas Moses passed away, leaving the task of getting his book published to his wife, Achala Moulik, a former civil servant and author. He has left behind another completed manuscript on the renowned Indologist, Sir William Jones and an unfinished one ‘Rajatarangini Revisted’ on his experiences in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh. These will be published shortly.
