Tanushree Chakraborty, Ph.D., is actively engaged in research at the Department of Biotechnology, GITAM Institute of Technology, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam (A.P.), India. She has qualified CSIR-UGC NET twice and has also qualified SET of the State of Chhattisgarh for Assistant Professorship which is the testimony of her academic zeal. Also, she has been training the aspirants of CSIR-UGC NET examination in Life Sciences through online mode.
Ms. Tanushree Chakraborty earned Gold Medal in her Master's Degree and earlier served as a Lecturer for five years at St. Thomas College, Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. Another academic accomplishment to her credit is the publication of two overview chapters appeared in an edited volume entitled Biofertilizers: Study and Impact, published by Wiley-Scrivener Publishing LLC, Beverly, MA (2021). Several few full length review papers and manuscripts based on the research outcome carried by her are in the process of publication. Papers presented by her in national seminars have been awarded first prize.
Nasim Akhtar, Ph.D. from BHU, is Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, GITAM Institute of Technology, GITAM University, Visakhapatnam (A.P.), India. He is actively engaged in the research and teaching on various aspects of Plant Biotechnology for the last 31 years, and has completed a few major research projects on micropropagation, somatic embryogenesis and secondary metabolites production funded by CSIR, UGC, and DST. Also, he has worked in the area of ‘Transgenic Plant Research’ and ‘Plant Molecular Biology’ as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at IIT Kharagpur.
Dr. Nasim Akhtar is also active in organizing symposiums and seminars at GITAM University. He has participated in more than twenty five National and International conferences, seminars and symposia and chaired various sessions. He is the reviewer for Springer's journal Plant Cell Tissue and Organ Culture: The Journal of Plant Biotechnology. A number of overview chapters on somatic embryogenesis and other subjects, authored by him, have appeared in several edited volumes. Besides, he has authored several full length research articles on various aspects of biotechnology for peer reviewed international journals.
